DO YOU HAVE A RETAIL STOREFRONT?
Farina Baking Company does not have a retail storefront or any pre-made cakes, cookies or desserts for sale.
We are a full commercially licensed kitchen located at 23290 Hwy 7 in the beautiful town of Excelsior, Minnesota, and due to our busy production schedules we ask that you do not show up unannounced.
Farina is available for cake design consultations and tastings by appointment only.
We also offer pick up for our pre-scheduled orders.
DO YOU DELIVER?
Yes, of course we deliver! We actually prefer to deliver our wedding cakes and desserts, as they may require some set-up.
Delivery prices are calculated by travel distance. Long deliveries or out-of-state deliveries may require special arrangements and pricing, so please contact us for more information.
DO YOU OFFER TASTINGS?
Farina schedules tastings for custom cakes, cupcakes and dessert displays for wedding and special event clients.
Tastings will only be arranged for event with a $500 minimum.
We schedule cake design consultations based on our availability for your event date.
If your date is available, we would love to schedule an appointment to discuss all of the wonderful details for your event.
Our tasting/consultations are typically scheduled Monday-Thursday between 1:00pm-6:00pm. Weekend appointments are not currently available due to our busy event schedules.
Our tastings are held in the historic downtown Excelsior and each consultation appointment is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
The tasting fee is $25.00 for two people (additional cost for additional people), keep in mind when you book with Farina these fee's will be deducted from your event total.
Tastings include three cake flavors and five buttercream fillings of your choice or we are happy to put together suggestions for you.
Please make us aware immediately of any allergies or dietary restrictions.
We bake everything fresh for your tasting, just as we would for your event!
All tasting fees must be paid in advance of your scheduled appointment.
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment time.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT? WHEN DO I PAY YOU?
For all weddings and large events, we require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the estimated event order in order to hold your date, along with a signed contract.
Our orders are taken on a first come, first serve basis only.
Wedding and large event orders must be paid in full one week prior to the date of your event.
WHAT IF I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY?
We can accommodate requests for minimal gluten-free cakes and requests for dairy-free or vegan cakes —please contact us to discuss.
Please make us aware if you or someone at your event has a nut allergy.
Note that many of our menu items contain nuts and/or nut extracts.
In our kitchen we avoid at all cost any cross contamination, but we are not a dedicated nut free facility. Some of our products that we use are also made in a facility that may have been manufactured around nuts.
Because of this, we are not able to accommodate individuals with severe nut allergies.
DO YOU NEED ADVANCE NOTICE FOR MY ORDER?
We typically book out on smaller celebration orders 2-3 weeks.
Rarely are we able to accommodate last minute orders (1 week and under).
Many of our orders are custom and we want to ensure attention to detail for all of our clients!
Wedding season weekends book up quickly, so we recommend contacting us 4-8 months prior to your event to schedule a consultation and tasting.
DO YOU RENT DISPLAY STANDS OR SERVING PLATTERS?
Yes! Farina Baking company has a large range of Cake Stands, Platters, Trays and Jars to adorn the perfect dessert table.
We are happy to put together a rental package for your event.
